Ipswich Library Jigsaw
Campaign Edge continually strives to produce groundbreaking experimental projects that add value to our community. Backing on from our augmented reality sandbox, we have created a community jigsaw puzzle that invites users to interact in a competitive team-style environment.
Located in the Ipswich City Library, our jigsaw puzzle is creative digital adaptation that combines community interactivity with Ipswich city history.
The purpose-built interactive table conceived, designed, programmed and built by Campaign Edge allows visitors to sign up to a team and contribute to the puzzle build. The puzzle set-up offers a reference image of the completed puzzle as well as a synopsis of the photo’s local history.
Throughout the build, an overhead webcam streams and times each contributor. The video is fed live to multiple screens across the library and is also featured on the library website. The feed allows participants and spectators to track the build’s progress.
When complete, the system emails all the team members with a time-lapse of their build and places their team time on a “League table” encouraging friendly competition and repeat involvement.
For user-friendliness, the dynamic design of the installation allows the Library to easily reset and interchange the puzzles, automatically updating the reference image and history insight.
The digital experiential interactive experience is a streamline community initiative that promotes educational fun in a smart city.
