“Not So Happy Little Vegemites”

The ETU wanted a campaign to pressure O-I Glass into giving its workers a decent pay rise.
We used the fact that O-I Glass makes Vegemite jars and the fact its CEO makes $200k a week as the creative hook to get the message across. Our “Not so Happy Little Vegemite” ad is a great spoof of an all time classic.
The campaign resulted in a big win for O-I Glass workers. As well as securing improved rights and working conditions, workers received a $1400 bonus, as well as a 12% pay rise over 3 years.
